You are currently browsing the category archive for the 'Web Site Integration' category.
This is functionality that eluded us for a while. We wanted to share different folders with the WordPress Box.net widget. All one has to do is perform a right mouse click on a folder and you will receive the dialog box with the embedded folder code.

You can then goto your widget page and enter the code.

Furthermore, this code can be entered right in WordPress as well. Here you can see what the output looks like.

Finally, your viewers can actually subscribe to an RSS feed from this file that is located in at Box.net.

What is amazing about WordPress is how quickly it begins to replace other programs and other methods of storing data. We have literally stopped using word processing programs (because we want to access our text data from any computer) We have stopped using web site creation software and have migrated our web sites to WordPress (far easier to maintain), and we have stopped creating screenshot documents for system configuration and now place those screenshots and associated text in WordPress. This has resulted in the following:
- Our information is far more organized than before
- We lose less information than pre-WordPress
- We have far higher information accessibility
- We spend less time in the particularities of a different programs
- We are beginning to use WordPress is a file system
- We combine other content with our own content, particularly by embedding YouTube videos in our posts
This is big. Is WordPress the symantical web that Tim Berners Lee was referring to. Is its highly structured way of creating and organizing data about to revolutionize the way data is kept on the web for both personal, government and company use? We think so.
